What matters before you connect
Capital.com is a modern broker that offers both a proprietary platform and MT4 access. Their MT4 server infrastructure runs through Equinix LD4 in London for European clients. TradersProxy works with Capital.com MT4 connections. The proprietary Capital.com platform does not use MT4 proxy settings.
The platform steps are the same across brokers. The server labels and datacenter location are what change. When the account portal and any public note disagree, trust the portal.
How to configure the platform
Copy the portal values into the platform proxy settings, save, restart if needed, then confirm the connection.
- Sign in to the TradersProxy portal and copy the host, port, username, and password exactly as shown.
- Open the proxy or connection settings in your platform.
- Select SOCKS5 as the protocol. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
- Paste the portal values. Do not type them by hand.
- Save the settings, restart the platform if required, and test the connection.
Platform menu paths
MT4 and MT5: Tools → Options → Server tab.
cTrader: Settings → Advanced → Connection.
Other platforms: find the connection settings, choose a proxy type, and paste the portal values.

What usually goes wrong
- Wrong protocol. Use SOCKS5 where available. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
- Typed credentials. Paste the values from the portal so the host, port, and password stay exact.
- Wrong server label. Match the broker portal or welcome email, not an old screenshot.
- No restart. Some platforms do not apply proxy changes until you quit and reopen them.

No. AI features in Capital.com's proprietary platform do not affect MT4 proxy configuration. The proxy routes MT4 traffic only. TradersProxy does not interact with Capital.com's web platform or app.
