How to set up TradersProxy for FXCM
This page covers the FXCM-specific setup notes, the platform steps, and the server labels you are most likely to see. TradersProxy is broker-agnostic, so the connection logic is the same across brokers.
Use the broker portal for the exact server name. Use this page for the setup path and the routing notes.

Quick answer
Open your MT4 platform, find the proxy settings, and paste the host, port, username, and password from the portal. Select SOCKS5 where the platform offers it. Use HTTP only when SOCKS5 is not available.
If FXCM publishes server names, use the one from your account portal or welcome email. If the list below is empty, the broker has not made a public list easy to confirm.
Setup normally takes under five minutes. The exact menu path depends on the platform, not the broker.

What matters before you connect
FXCM is a broker note page, not a payment page. Use it as a routing reference. The platform steps are the same across brokers. The server labels and datacenter notes are what change.
Regulation, founding date, and platform lineup are listed above for context. They do not change proxy configuration.
The broker is commonly associated with New York. Treat that as a routing hint, not a guarantee. Brokers move infrastructure. When the account portal and the public note disagree, trust the account portal.
If you trade on more than one platform, configure each platform separately. The relay is the same. The menu path changes.
How to configure the platform
The goal is simple: copy the portal values into the platform's proxy settings, save, restart if needed, then confirm the connection.
- Sign in to the TradersProxy portal and copy the host, port, username, and password exactly as shown.
- Open the proxy or connection settings in your platform.
- Select the protocol the platform supports. Use SOCKS5 where possible. Use HTTP only where SOCKS5 is not available.
- Paste the portal values. Do not type them by hand.
- Save the settings, restart the platform if required, and test the connection.
Platform notes
MT4 and MT5 usually expose the proxy settings under Tools, then Options, then Server.
cTrader usually exposes it under Settings, then Advanced, then Connection.
If the broker uses a different front end, follow the same idea: find the connection settings, choose a proxy type, and paste the portal values.
Server names and routing notes for FXCM
These are the server labels currently listed in the broker data file. Use the one that matches your account type. If the broker portal shows a newer label, trust the portal.
- FXCM-Real01
- FXCM-Real02
- FXCM-Demo01
Practical note
If the broker uses multiple live or demo endpoints, pick the server that matches your account type first. If you are unsure, start with the label shown in the portal and only change it if the broker tells you to.
What usually goes wrong
- Wrong protocol. Use SOCKS5 where available. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
- Typed credentials. Paste the values from the portal so the host, port, and password stay exact.
- Wrong server label. Match the broker portal or welcome email, not an old screenshot.
- No restart. Some platforms do not apply proxy changes until you quit and reopen them.
When TradersProxy helps, and when it does not
Use TradersProxy when FXCM is already the right broker, your platform is already set up, and the part that still feels messy is the route between your machine and the broker. That is where cleaner reconnects, steadier sessions, and less route noise show up.
It does not fix the wrong account type, the wrong server label, a bad login, or a platform that has not been configured yet. Those are setup problems, not network-path problems. Fix the account first, then add the relay.
- It helps when the platform is right and the route is the weak link.
- It does not help when the account or server choice is wrong.
- It is the lighter fix when you want to keep trading from the machine you already use.
If the problem is the machine itself, use a VPS. If the problem is the path, use TradersProxy. That is the clean decision rule.
FAQ for FXCM traders
TradersProxy works with FXCM's MT4 offering. FXCM's proprietary Trading Station does not expose a SOCKS5 proxy settings in its standard configuration, so proxy setup applies to the MT4 connection specifically.
No. Proxy configuration is a network-layer setting — it has no bearing on regulatory status or account availability in your region. Check FXCM's current regulatory standing for your jurisdiction before opening an account.
FXCM's MT4 servers typically accept connections on port 443. MT4 will negotiate the correct port when you select the server from the server list. Your TradersProxy port (from the portal) is the port used to reach the proxy — the proxy then connects onward to FXCM on FXCM's port.
