This page covers the FXOpen-specific setup notes, the platform steps, and the server labels you are most likely to see. TradersProxy is broker-agnostic, so the connection logic is the same across brokers.
Use the broker portal for the exact server name. Use this page for the setup path and the routing notes.

What matters before you connect
FXOpen is an FCA-regulated ECN broker established in 2005, offering MT4 and MT5 with ECN execution. Their server infrastructure is hosted at Equinix LD4 in London for European clients and Equinix NY4 for Americas clients. The server label in your MT4/MT5 login window indicates which datacenter your account connects to — use the matching TradersProxy node for minimum latency.
The platform steps are the same across brokers. The server labels and datacenter location are what change. When the account portal and any public note disagree, trust the portal.
How to configure the platform
Copy the portal values into the platform proxy settings, save, restart if needed, then confirm the connection.
- Sign in to the TradersProxy portal and copy the host, port, username, and password exactly as shown.
- Open the proxy or connection settings in your platform.
- Select SOCKS5 as the protocol. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
- Paste the portal values. Do not type them by hand.
- Save the settings, restart the platform if required, and test the connection.
Platform menu paths
MT4 and MT5: Tools → Options → Server tab.
cTrader: Settings → Advanced → Connection.
Other platforms: find the connection settings, choose a proxy type, and paste the portal values.

Routing note
FXOpen servers are hosted at Equinix LD4 (London) / NY4 (New York). Select the TradersProxy node nearest to LD4 in your account settings for minimum round-trip latency.
What usually goes wrong
- Wrong protocol. Use SOCKS5 where available. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
- Typed credentials. Paste the values from the portal so the host, port, and password stay exact.
- Wrong server label. Match the broker portal or welcome email, not an old screenshot.
- No restart. Some platforms do not apply proxy changes until you quit and reopen them.
FAQ for FXOpen traders
FXOpen runs MT4 and MT5 infrastructure at Equinix LD4 in London and Equinix NY4 in New Jersey. Check the server hostname in your platform to confirm which datacenter your account uses. London-based accounts: use a TradersProxy LD4 node. New York-based accounts: use a NY4 node.
No. ECN order routing is a broker-side feature. The proxy configuration in MT4 and MT5 is identical for ECN and non-ECN accounts.
TradersProxy works with FXOpen's MT4 and MT5 connections. TickTrader is a proprietary platform with its own connection architecture — it does not use MT4/MT5 proxy settings.
