Broker setup guide - Global Prime

How to set up TradersProxy for Global Prime

This page covers the Global Prime-specific setup notes, the platform steps, and the server labels you are most likely to see. TradersProxy is broker-agnostic, so the connection logic is the same across brokers.

Use the broker portal for the exact server name. Use this page for the setup path and the routing notes.

Quick answer

Open your MT4, MT5 platform, find the proxy settings, and paste the host, port, username, and password from the portal. Select SOCKS5 where the platform offers it. Use HTTP only when SOCKS5 is not available.

If Global Prime publishes server names, use the one from your account portal or welcome email. If the list below is empty, the broker has not made a public list easy to confirm.

Setup normally takes under five minutes. The exact menu path depends on the platform, not the broker.

Broker notes

What matters before you connect

Global Prime is a broker note page, not a payment page. Use it as a routing reference. The platform steps are the same across brokers. The server labels and datacenter notes are what change.

Regulation, founding date, and platform lineup are listed above for context. They do not change proxy configuration.

The broker is commonly associated with Sydney. Treat that as a routing hint, not a guarantee. Brokers move infrastructure. When the account portal and the public note disagree, trust the account portal.

If you trade on more than one platform, configure each platform separately. The relay is the same. The menu path changes.

Setup steps

How to configure the platform

The goal is simple: copy the portal values into the platform's proxy settings, save, restart if needed, then confirm the connection.

  1. Sign in to the TradersProxy portal and copy the host, port, username, and password exactly as shown.
  2. Open the proxy or connection settings in your platform.
  3. Select the protocol the platform supports. Use SOCKS5 where possible. Use HTTP only where SOCKS5 is not available.
  4. Paste the portal values. Do not type them by hand.
  5. Save the settings, restart the platform if required, and test the connection.

Platform notes

MT4 and MT5 usually expose the proxy settings under Tools, then Options, then Server.

cTrader usually exposes it under Settings, then Advanced, then Connection.

If the broker uses a different front end, follow the same idea: find the connection settings, choose a proxy type, and paste the portal values.

Server names

Server names and routing notes for Global Prime

These are the server labels currently listed in the broker data file. Use the one that matches your account type. If the broker portal shows a newer label, trust the portal.

  • GlobalPrime-Live
  • GlobalPrime-Demo

Practical note

If the broker uses multiple live or demo endpoints, pick the server that matches your account type first. If you are unsure, start with the label shown in the portal and only change it if the broker tells you to.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong

  • Wrong protocol. Use SOCKS5 where available. Use HTTP only if the platform does not offer SOCKS5.
  • Typed credentials. Paste the values from the portal so the host, port, and password stay exact.
  • Wrong server label. Match the broker portal or welcome email, not an old screenshot.
  • No restart. Some platforms do not apply proxy changes until you quit and reopen them.
Questions

FAQ for Global Prime traders

  • No. STP is a broker-side execution model — orders are not held on the dealer desk. TradersProxy affects only the network path from your machine to Global Prime's servers. Once your order packet arrives, the broker's execution model takes over.

  • Yes. Global Prime's MT4 and MT5 infrastructure is located at Equinix Sydney in Sydney. A TradersProxy node in the Asia-Pacific region provides the shortest path to Sydney.

  • TradersProxy improves the consistency of the connection between your platform and Global Prime's servers. Lower jitter means tick data arrives more evenly — fewer gaps and fewer bursts of ticks after brief connection interruptions. This can affect the accuracy of real-time charts and indicator calculations.
