Compare with a VPS

A VPS moves your platform. We move your connection.

A remote desktop forces your charts into a laggy, compressed window on another computer. You trade on your own multi-monitor setup while our server in your broker’s city handles the trade route. Enter four values into your platform and keep your full screen speed.

01 · Side by side

Keep your own screens and local charts. A VPS runs when your computer is off.

A VPS is a second computer that runs your platform for you. Traders Proxy leaves your platform where it is. Each row below explains what changes at your trading desk.

Why it matters. Broker servers hold stop-loss and take-profit orders either way, but automated bots need a VPS.

02 · The money

A VPS bill pays for a second computer. Ours pays for the connection.

If you trade by hand, part of a VPS bill pays for a computer you may not need. Both bills below are for 12 months, paid monthly. The VPS figure is the entry forex plan from the three providers above.

What a VPS bill pays for

  • A virtual Windows machine that stays powered on when your desk computer is shut down.
  • Hosting for automated bots and expert advisors that trade around the clock.
  • Ongoing operating system updates, remote desktop overhead, and recurring hosting fees.

What a Traders Proxy bill pays for

  • Native multi-monitor chart rendering on your own desk with zero remote desktop compression.
  • Fast order dispatch to your broker data centre without waiting to bundle small packets.
  • Separate proxy credentials so your primary billing account stays isolated.
  • Rapid stale socket cleanup so your terminal reconnects immediately after an ISP drop.
  • Honest limits that clearly state manual trading only without 24-hour bot hosting.

03 · The right tool

When a VPS is the right choice, we will say so.

Execution requirements decide the choice rather than price alone. Broker trade servers hold your protective stop orders whether your terminal stays on or off. Automated scripts and trailing stops execute inside client software, so they require an active machine.

Choose a VPS if

  • An automated expert advisor must place orders while your home computer stays powered off.
  • You execute trailing stops overnight that require an active platform process.
  • Your trading strategy demands unbroken uptime through local electrical outages.

Choose Traders Proxy if

  • You execute manual trades from your desk and demand crisp local charts across all screens.
  • You prefer entering four connection fields rather than maintaining a second Windows system.
  • You want order traffic routed directly to your broker data centre without remote desktop lag.

04 · Distance

A VPS in your broker’s city still requires a long remote desktop trip.

Placing a virtual machine near a broker shortens only the leg between that machine and the broker.

Every mouse click, keystroke, and chart pixel must still travel the full distance between your screen and that remote desktop.

Traders Proxy splits the workload sensibly. Your charts render locally with zero interface lag, while our server in your broker’s city maintains an immediate connection to the trade desk. Any dropped packet on that trade leg recovers inside the city rather than waiting on your home link.

The maths in briefPhysics, not our measurement
  1. 01

Your broker’s distance sets a minimum time for every order

Light in a cable travels about 200 km every millisecond. Your order goes there and back, so every 1,000 km adds at least 10 ms.

What it means for youPhysical distance dictates your latency floor. Fibre travel times remain constant regardless of routing tools.

minimum there and back (ms) = distance (km) ÷ 100

  2. 02

One lost piece of data makes everything wait

When a packet drops, your platform pauses while requesting a retransmission across the full distance. Consecutive drops double this waiting penalty. Incoming price ticks stall during the exact seconds volatility peaks.

    wait 1× → 2× → 4× → 8×

  3. 03

Our server in your broker’s city recovers lost data locally

Our server in your broker’s city opens the final connection to your broker. On a quiet connection, a repeat loss doesn’t double the wait.

What it means for youWhen a piece is lost near your broker, our server recovers lost data inside that city instead of from your computer.

distance set by physics · recovery in your broker’s city is ours

We don’t promise lower ping because distance sets the minimum. Local recovery in your broker’s city covers only the connection between our server and your broker. The repeat-loss fix covers the first few tries on a quiet connection, after the first repeat try.

Why manual and multi-monitor setups leave remote-desktop VPS hosting.

Every quote below links to the forum thread or vendor guide where it appeared. Underneath each quote, see which parts of our system work together on it and where our server stops.

Manual trading on a Windows VPS adds a remote-desktop step that 0 ms hides

“Synchronization is always a one-direction process — the local platform environment is moved to the virtual platform, but never vice versa.”

How local trading avoids it. Your platform stays on your own computer and monitors, so clicks and hotkeys never wait on a remote-desktop window.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. We add a step between your computer and your broker, and we do not promise lower ping. Distance between you and your broker still counts.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Do you even need a monthly Windows VPS if you trade by hand on your own screen?

“Rent hosting on a long-term basis to get up to 33% discount. Mini 1 month 15 USD per month”

How local trading avoids it. If you trade by hand on your own screen, paste four values into your platform instead of renting and maintaining a remote Windows desktop.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary
  • Built-in SOCKS5 loginSupporting

Where it stops. If you run a robot while your computer is off, you still need a machine that stays on. On a Mac, you still need a Mac build of your platform.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Remote desktop is laggy on a Mac or a very wide screen (client-side rendering, not distance)

“It is however only over Remote Desktop Gateway. RDP directly to machines over VPN works with no issue.”

How local trading avoids it. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there's no remote-desktop window to lag.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. Needs a version of your platform that runs on your computer. Anything you still reach by remote desktop is as laggy as before.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Remote-desktop session freezes, drops, or shows "connection has been lost"

“I added the dword `fClientDisableUDP` into HKEY\_LOCAL\_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\Terminal Services\\Client and set as 1. Logged in and out.....problem solved.”

How local trading avoids it. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there's no remote-desktop session to freeze or drop.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. Your platform's connection to our server can still drop. We notice quickly and your platform can reconnect, but we never promise it won't happen.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Far from the VPS, every click travels there and back plus video

“Is there no API which you can use instead of running a whole desktop environment? Because now you basically move your mouse in Europe, it sends the signal to the US, moves the mouse in the US, sends the whole video image back to Europe, and with an average of 150ms you're having a minimum round trip time of 300ms, and if you include the big amount of bytes a video feed takes up + decoding that, you're at 500ms.”

How local trading avoids it. With no remote-desktop screen, your click goes to your broker through our server, not to a remote computer and back as video.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary
  • City switchingSupporting

Where it stops. Distance still sets the minimum. From far away, the trip to our server is still long. We add a step and do not promise lower ping.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

The rented Windows VPS itself freezes, spikes, crashes or goes down

“Random ping spikes (1ms → 30–50ms). Short disconnect/reconnect events in the MT5 journal. CPU usage spikes despite low EA load. Is this just shared VPS "noisy neighbor" behavior?”

How local trading avoids it. There's no rented Windows machine in your setup to freeze or go down. Your platform runs on your own computer.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary
  • Services restart themselves after a crashSupporting

Where it stops. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there is no remote desktop to freeze. If a service on our server restarts, live connections reconnect.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Avoids by design

Virtual hosting limits with one account per server and no custom DLLs

“If it requires DLL calls, it will not work on it, because they are prohibited.”

How local trading avoids it. Your platform runs on your own computer with your own charts and custom DLLs. Plans count connected devices, not trading accounts.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. We do not host Expert Advisors. If your computer sleeps or goes offline, your robot stops.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

Windows Server update reboots a rented VPS while a position is open

“Hoster can conduct technical maintenance of the servers during weekends (Saturday and Sunday according to EET time zone) for a total of up to 4 hours a day and, if necessary, during weekdays for a total of up to 15 minutes a day.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Security updates install daily. When a server needs a reboot, it happens at the weekend, with each server at its own time.

  • Daily security updates, weekend restartsBoundary

Where it stops. Security updates install daily. When one of our servers needs a restart, it happens at the weekend, and a restart drops live connections.

05 · Questions

What should you know before you switch?

Already paying for a VPS?

Keep your active VPS during your first week. Run one demo terminal on the VPS and a second terminal locally through our proxy, then compare fill responses directly.

Can I use both?

Yes. If your VPS platform features proxy settings, you can route its traffic through us as one connected device. This setup helps primarily when the VPS sits far from your broker data centre.

Will it lower my ping?

We do not promise lower ping because physical distance sets the minimum round trip. Our server helps when broker packets drop by recovering them locally inside that financial hub.

Does my broker see a different address?

Your broker sees one steady server address shared across active accounts routed to that city. That address updates only if you switch destination cities or if hardware undergoes maintenance. Never route through a proxy if your broker terms explicitly forbid external gateways.

Keep your trading on your own screens. Route only the connection.

Configure four platform values in under 5 minutes with zero software installations. If you trade manually, an unnecessary remote desktop costs $20.83 or more each month.
